Senator John McCain

August 25th, 2018 – Republican Senator John McCain III passed away after a battle with brain cancer. He was a long serving member of the Senate, and held public office from 1987 to 2018. Much can be said about Senator McCain, and much is being said in various news outlets and on multiple cable channels. In violation of the time-honored standard of not speaking ill of the dead, I compiled a list of awful and horrible things that “Songbird” McCain ( a nickname given him by fellow inhabitants of the ” Hanoi Hilton” ) was responsible for, including the Trump-Russia fiasco….and going further back, the election of Barack Obama…..but upon review, I have changed my mind.

Instead of writing of his extremely short, and disastrous career as a fighter pilot, his “public service”, or his family connections, ( John McCain Sr. – his Grandpa – was a 4-star general, and John McCain Jr. – his Dad – was as well….with McCain’s father being Commander-in-Chief of the entire Pacific Command during the Vietnam War and his son’s capture ) I have decided to devote the remainder of this column to his contributions to America’s prosperity and security…..as well as his patriotic actions and heroic deeds.

So, there you go. Rest in peace, “Senator”.

Well, ………..Bye.
