Let’s get something out-of-the-way before I begin today’s column: If you are expecting commentary, or a defense of, the Helsinki Summit between Trump and Putin, you are about to be disappointed. First, what took place between the leaders of the U.S. and the Russian Federation was a standard meeting between world powers, and nothing spectacular took place. Second, the “Russia Narrative” is fantasy, and nothing but an excuse for the loss of a poor candidate with a poor message. What started as a ruse to cover the criminality of the Obama administration quickly became the mechanism for the removal of a duly elected President by the Unelected Progressive Bureaucracy. Frankly, I have grown tired of arguing with idiots about this issue, and if you still believe in the Russia fallacy – that a defeated nation with the economy of Italy, that two previous administrations ignored while it invaded Georgia and then Crimea, and that could not (outside of nukes ) pose any military threat to the U.S ( For example, the United States has 10 active aircraft carriers and Russia has one ) – all with China is on the march – then I have no desire to attempt to reverse your intellectual failings and incredible ignorance. Feel free to keep calling for nuclear war over Clinton campaign opposition-research if it floats your boat.
Russia’s Single Carrier Belching Smoke
Moving on, the Democrat party in the United States is drastically swinging left in a way that borders on insanity. I know, after eight years of the most incompetent, divisive, and corrupt administration ever undertaken….who would have thought that the political left could get crazier? Well, they are. 28-year-old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently won her Democrat primary against 10-term incumbent Joe Crowley. She’s a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, what I call a “Dazi”, and she’s like, super cool and stuff. In her recent appearance on PBS’s “Firing Line”, she was asked a series of innocent and simple questions. One query to Ocasio-Cortez was a request for clarification about her repeated assertions regarding “the situation in occupied Palestine” and what she thought that meant. She could neither define what “occupied Palestine” was, nor how it related to geopolitics. She literally sat there looking ( and being ) stupid. Her answer was ” I’m no expert….”, even though in college she majored in international relations. Okay, so she’s dumb about foreign policy, so what?

Well, next she went on to opine that “capitalism hasn’t always existed….and it won’t always”. I’m not sure what economic system Ocasio-Cortez thinks has created the most luxurious standard of living ever recorded in human history…….but I know, and it’s capitalism. She then claimed that we have “unrestricted capitalism”, and spat out some Obama-like gibberish about how evil that is. Wow. Maybe she’s confused about what the word “unrestricted” means. So she’s dumb about the economy too (even though she majored in that as well), so what?
Ocasio-Cortez was then asked about her take on the current state of the economy. Easy, right? Nope. She went on to say that the low unemployment numbers are a ruse, and the truth was that it’s only because “people are working two jobs…..and 60, 70, 80 hours a week, so…”. Uh…that’s not how unemployment is calculated. Not even close. This is when I realized that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez literally knows nothing. A college graduate with a degree in economics and international relations, yet she knows absolutely nothing about either subject. How could someone who is, no offense Alexandria, this demonstrably stupid gain enough votes to win her primary? Oh, I know….. it’s because the Left is made up of babies in adult bodies, who loudly cry and have tantrums without ever really knowing anything about anything. This is what happens when someone thinks history started the day they were born, and sadly that’s a lot of folks.
If you think Ocasio-Cortez’s victory is a fluke, I have bad news for you. She’ll probably go on to win, and between now and then we are going to see more people like her. Dumb ideas and even dumber agendas. I hope you’re not tired of hearing about “social justice”, “gender equality”, “patriarchy”, “LGBTQQPP+”, and “trans issues”, because that’s what has now consumed progressive-left politics. If you don’t believe me, you can tune in to her upcoming appearance at the Facebook-sponsored 2018 Netroots Nation conference August 2-4th……….where the biggest issues of the New Left will be discussed…..namely “menstrual equality”. I’m not joking. Sigh.

Ah, strange to read about the days when “trans issues” and “menstrual equality” were still kind of strange and unusual to people. Amazing it has only been two years.
Of course I blame the right wing media for making AOC as famous as she is. In politics ALL publicity is good publicity to an extent, and AOC would just be a unknown dingbat freshman (er…freshperson?) Congressman….damn, sorry, Congressperson that no one knew existed except her constituents, except the right turned her into a boogyman and go-to villain because she was so radical and easy to mock because of her stupidity and extremism (and ’cause we’re all totally, like, sexist and patriarchy and stuff). But all this media coverage has made “AOC” a national name, and I won’t be surprised at all if she and her cohort don’t end up dominating the DNC and taking over after Pelosi finally retires to cast her hexes behind the curtains (I suppose that was sexist or something; everything is, when it’s not racist or transphobic).
