Merry Christmas!

It’s less than twenty-four hours away! It won’t be long until Santa squeezes his portly butt down chimneys all over the world in celebration of the birth of Jesus. And while many are deserving of nothing but lumps of coal this year, those of us who are imbued with the Spirit Of Christmas are willing to be charitable to the Grinches all around us.

Why? Because it is indeed a Merry Christmas. The government is shut down, and may it continue to be for as long as it takes until a wall is built. If that’s not enough of a gift to the American public, there’s more: Thousands of families received the best news they could have hoped for this Holiday Season…..their loved ones – who have been in harm’s way in the snake pit of the Middle East for many long years – are going to come home.

If you’re a warmonger, or a Neocon, or a member of the Military Industrial Complex, sure….you’re upset. You thought we were going to be enjoying war-without-end for another year. Too bad.  I’ll pity you once I get a decent reason for being there beyond this one:

Yeah, this is what we’ve been doing : protecting opium poppies!

Or this one:

What a guy he was! At least he’s warming by The Fire now.

So….eat, drink, and be merry! Count the many blessings you have and tell the ones you love how much they mean to you. And finally, from The Empire to all of you…..Merry Christmas!

” I was sittin’ by the fireside…taking a walk through the snow. Listening to a children’s choir…..singing songs about Jesus, and the blessed way that He came to us. Why can’t it remain, all through the year?” – Ray Charles, That Spirit Of Christmas

Fool Me Twice

Once again, if you believe what the Establishment is selling, the Assad regime in Syria has “gassed its own people”. In my opinion this is probably total hogwash. Assad is many things…..but suicidal? Again? This has happened before, and guess what? It always seems to happen right when the Western World is tired of being involved in Syria’s civil war. It also seems to happen after U.S. neocon politicians make a visit there, or make threats about what will happen if we leave. Something doesn’t smell right.  Are we to trust and believe the evil creatures that populate America’s “intelligence agencies”? You know, the people who tried to overthrow an American election, and when that didn’t work, an elected president? Are we to believe the heinous Assad regime? The Russians? The Israelis? None of the above, thank you.

I don’t care what you think about Syria, or how awful Assad is. Before this “war”, Islam and its Sharia barbarism was not the law in Syria, a rarity in the Middle East.   In fact, since America’s intelligence agencies can’t be trusted….and guys like John McCain – the leading proponent of military involvement – definitely can’t be trusted……it is folly to make any determination about Syria. In five years of discussing this topic, I have yet to find anyone – hawk or dove – that can explain to me how its any of the United States’ business. Besides, in case you missed it, the U.S. loses it’s proxy wars with Russia, which is what we’re discussing. Vietnam, Korea…..how’d they work out? Are the Vietnamese free? Are the North Koreans? I guess you could make the case that South Korea is doing awesome….but why? Could it be the safety, security, and billions of dollars that the South Koreans enjoy at America’s expense? Call me cruel, but I get tired of seeing glittering cities bought with American lives and tax dollars while the cities of the United States turn into fetid wastelands.

It would be laughable from a disinterested distance. The U.S. sends billions in aid and arms to assist invaders in Syria and foment a civil war…….while it enjoys open borders and a foreign invasion numbering in the tens of millions to its own shores. Under that logic, maybe Syria should be arming and supplying South and Central American illegals as they occupy and alter the landscape of the United States. Maybe Syria should fund the caravan of future California voters headed to the States. Who knows, maybe they are.  And why not? Are we not involved in the same thing around the world? If you don’t think so, then I have some bridges for sale.

Syria sucks. It’s sad, really, when you look at the role it has played historically throughout the millennia. Truthfully, the same could be said about Lebanon…….a place, like Syria, that was ruled by a moron and murderer……but a comparably reasonable one compared to the Caliphate. Did we learn nothing from Iraq?  When one ponders these things, they are left with the question: Why are we involved? Whose side are we on? Are the machinations of people with whom you have no involvement with, in their own nation, our concerns? Would we find it acceptable for another nation to play a role – much less a direct military one – in our affairs? If California seceded from the United States…….would you accept their reinforcement from a hostile and nuclear China?

The sad truth is that tragedies happen the world over. We cannot expect to be the policemen of the world. The United States is overrun with its own invasion…..and in it’s own sort of civil war……divided between those that cry for restricting Speech and Inalienable Rights, and those that stubbornly cling to them. Between those that want truth, transparency, and representation….and those who lie, cheat, and steal in pursuit of their ends. We have plenty of problems to deal with, and plenty of unrest here at home. I have looked for a reason to go “fix” Syria instead of ourselves……and I can’t find it.  unnecessary and unproductive foreign wars undertaken by Empires on the brink of collapse are the disastrous stuff of history and legend. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling a war in Syria.

I Don’t Need Your Civil War

( I first published this column in June of 2013…..when it comes to Syria, what has changed? – Wes of The Empire 04/08/2018 )

Okay, let me get this straight. On another continent, thousands of miles away, there is a country in the midst of an ongoing civil war. And we need to do something about it. Really? Why?

I love history. I am fascinated with the rise and fall of civilization throughout the ages, and also the way our knowledge of the events that have transpired seems to be ever-changing. This amateur hobby greatly affects my interpretation of current happenings. Rome often went to war…. but I can’t recall the instance where it went to war for nothing. It was for gain. Gain of precious metals, land for expansion, influence, captives, or even to increase your resume – sometimes all of these at the same time.

But why does our Republic go to war now? In fact, regardless of the sheepish bleating of the Michael Moores of the world, we haven’t gone to war for any good reason in over 60 years. And if you think our recent escapades in the middle east were for “Big Oil”, check the price of gas. I’m at the point where we should at least have cheap, plentiful fuel in exchange for the lives and limbs of American servicemen and women. At least history would record the reason for our decade-plus conflict as a practical one.

So here we are. Once again an American president is sitting next to a Soviet, oops… I mean Russian, leader, contemplating going to yet another proxy war with the land of the Tzars. If I remember correctly, we haven’t won one of those. I wish Rambo did exist, and with a tank-top and an M-60 machine gun he could single-handedly vanquish our foes without recieving more than a flesh wound, but he doesn’t. Vietnam sucked, and Korea was at best a stand-off. Maybe if we enslaved, oops…there I go again, I mean, conscripted millions to throw themselves against the Communist Hordes we would have had a better outcome.

When I look around me, I don’t see a populace ready to suit up and watch their buddies get turned into strawberry jam by an exploding IED. Not for some vague concept of policing the world or spreading “democracy” to people who wouldn’t recognize it, and if they did would reject it. The only people I do see ready to throw more Americans into the grinder are in D.C.. I’ve been watching McCain trundle in front of the cameras to tell me how important it is to not mind our own business. He’s fighting harder to get us into a third middle eastern conflict than he did to win the White House.

Oh, and I left out an important fact….. we’re freaking broke. America needs to be ordering off the Dollar Menu, not adding billions more to its bar tab. Here’s an idea…. let’s rebuild our own infrastructure before we blow up and rebuild someone else’s. Besides, we evidently are already going to send the “rebels” ( probably Al Qaeda-types ) some really sweet guns to use on us….oops, this is becoming a habit…. I mean on the bad guys. I seem to remember that every time we arm “freedom fighters”, they end up using those weapons to fight our freedom. Besides, maybe Egypt can send in all those brand new state-of-the-art fighter jets we sent them.

Truth is America cannot afford, in money, reputation, or willpower, to engage in another nation’s civil war. And judging by the look on Putin’s face while sitting next to our Fearless Leader, he knows it.

Ivanka Cries, Trump’s Agenda Dies?

Will the real Donald Trump please stand up? If pictures of suffering children is all it takes to launch America into – at best another Iraq-style debacle, and at worst – World War 3…… then our military is about to be very, very busy.  According to Eric Trump, Ivanka Kushner was “heartbroken and outraged” over images of children in Syria, and that “she has influence” over her father’s decisions, and that in turn the President was “deeply affected” by the pictures he was shown. Let me be clear, I still support the agenda laid out by Trump in the year leading up to the election. My concern is that since being sworn in the President has surrounded himself with some bad actors, and I didn’t vote for them and their status-quo agenda.

When idiots like Fareed Zakaria, John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Bill Kristol, and Lindsey “I haven’t found the right woman yet” Graham suddenly decide to sing the praises of striking Syria and Russia, and in turn President Trump, you know that the wrong decisions are being made. Also, why are we now adding the picturesque little hellhole known as Montenegro to NATO? Do people realize that any attack on a NATO country requires a military response by the United States? Or that the United States carries the largest financial burden for NATO, even though it is a treaty for the defense of Europe – not the United States? Donald Trump repeatedly promised during the campaign to withdraw from, or defund, NATO……..and to not get involved in the Syrian civil war, so what has changed?

It is concerning to me that without investigation or facts ( what kind of “gas”- no gloves or masks were present on aid workers – and ISIS in Syria has used gas attacks in an attempt to effect a response  before-*NYTimes 11/21/16 ) , we launched an attack on Syria, a westernized nation not beholden to Sharia law – in support of islamists who would enforce the most archaic theocracy imaginable. Why can we not extricate ourselves from this region? What is our interest, and why is there no effort to explain to the American public a rationale for this dangerous folly? All I can find is the same old garbage about “moral obligations” and “protecting the children”, and I’m sorry…….I care about the citizens of the United States and their children first and foremost – and I’m sick and tired of sacrificing America’s youth and our financial future for some Islamic Dump of a Country on the other side of the world.  Did Bosnia and Iraq prove nothing?

I still believe in the agenda that Trump put forth, and that we voted for……….but where is it? The course of events does not seem to be any different from that of a Jeb Bush or Hillary Clinton presidency so far, and I find that entirely unacceptable. I can only conclude that people like life-long Democrat and Globalist banker Jared Kushner need to go, because they are anathema to the stated goals of the newly elected President, and they are not representative of the people who brought Trump to the dance. Establishment “nevertrumpers” are still just that, and appeasing their desires for a third World War will not make them stop undermining and demonizing the President. Now that the islamists know what it takes to goad The West into fighting on their behalf, look for several more of these chemical attacks to occur in an attempt to mobilize our severely depleted military. Maybe someone should give some pictures of suffering American children dying in the inner cities to Ivanka, or pictures of third-term aborted babies…….perhaps then we would mobilize the Federal Government on our own behalf.

War Machine

Well, that didn’t take long. I awoke this morning to discover that a Bush/Clinton might have been elected president after all.  Overnight, Trump spent over 60 million dollars…oops, I meant launched 59 cruise missiles – at another sovereign nation. Don’t worry, though…..it was “for the children” that were victims of a supposed gas attack perpetrated by Bashir Assad…….because the “intelligence community” said so. You know, the same “intelligence community” that claims the president is a Russian agent that likes golden showers in ex-Obama hotel rooms, said Benghazi wasn’t a terror attack on the anniversary of 9/11, told us Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction yet couldn’t find them, assassinated Ghaddafi and replaced him with tools the Caliphate, and couldn’t find evidence of any Clinton criminality. Sounds totally kosher to me!

Okay…….Assad, Syria’s secularist dictator, is close to winning his country’s civil war against ISIS…oops, I mean “freedom fighters”…..(you know, like the Afghans in the 80’s and that turned out well)…..with the aid of their ally, Russia. Then, out of nowhere – and with suicidal vigor – Assad and Russia decide to “gas” some women and children…….virtually the only offense that could unite the lazy West to attack them. I don’t buy it.  Not only do I not buy it, I’m pretty angry about it. See, I voted for Trump because I wanted a secure border, illegals deported, taxes lowered, Obamacare done away with, and a pull back of U.S. military assets from the myriad of conflicts in which we have no interest.

Well here we are, a couple of months in, and lo and behold, the only thing we have successfully managed to do is lob cruise missiles at Syria. Where is the wall? Where are my lower taxes? Where are the deportations? The Republican party has had 8 years to get bills ready to go for a Republican president’s desk and yet………..their agenda has up and vanished like a fart in the wind. The party of Noble Losers has struck again, and is so busy losing, recusing itself, and stepping down, that it just can’t quite get the job done. What a surprise. I guess the only thing our two parties can agree upon is useless, never-ending, war. If you’re cheering this, ask yourself: If lobbing cruise missiles was wrong when Clinton or Obama did it……..it’s still wrong now, isn’t it?

Listen, I like to “rah-rah” for the United States. I like when our military wins and doesn’t take casualties. All I can say is thank God that during our own Civil War there was no United States on the other side of the Atlantic…….yes, thank God we fought out our conflict without a “world policeman” stepping in, choosing a side, and then using it’s military might to crush one side or the other in the name of it’s “morality”. Is there a mountain of gold in Syria that belongs to us? Is there an oil pipeline that belongs to us that needs defending? Are there American citizens being tortured and killed by Russia and Assad in Syria? As far as I can tell, the answer to all those questions is NO, so why are we involved? If it is on behalf of people whom are suffering, then I’ve got bad news for you……….there are women and children dying horrible, cruel deaths all over the world, right this second. Is it the job of The United States to intervene in every conflict on the face of the Earth in order to “save people”? Because that’s a job that is never finished………and a very convenient excuse to not take care of our own business.

A Trump Mistake?

I have said repeatedly over the last eighteen months that when I see something going wrong with the Trump administration, I will say so. Well, today is that day. It’s all over the globalist corporate news networks this morning…….and what’s missing are the details. What am I referring to? As of right now, the United States has committed Marines and artillery to Syria. I find this development deeply disturbing, and once again I must break from the “wisdom” of the John McCain wing of the republican party that is obsessed with all things war.

One of the reasons I voted for Trump was the repeated campaign promise to withdraw U.S. troops from places that we should not be…….and I strongly believe that Syria is definitely one of those places. Frankly, I am against any and all new deployments of “boots on the ground”, because we are not in any position to win wars. We are mired in political correctness and muddled rules of engagement, and the military has not been repaired, nor its social engineer hacks removed, in the short time that Trump has been in office. If anything, his picks for cabinet positions are a beach-head in the bureaucracy, and represent being one-level deep in a sea of Obama/Bush kleptocrats.

My questions are many, but I would be happy to get the following answers: Who are we fighting in Syria, and why?  Republicans are on TV telling me that our Marines will be receiving firing orders from ” the fighters we have trained on the ground” in order to “combat ISIS”. What the hell does that mean? It sounds to me like U.S. soldiers getting their marching orders from a bunch of Islamic goat-humpers – who would be just as happy chopping off their heads and strapping bombs to 10 year olds – as they are to be our “allies”. Are we fighting with, or against, Russia and the Syrian government? Are we escalating the disastrous strategy of the bumbling Obama?

The stock market has gained roughly 3 trillion in value since Trump’s election. Illegal border crossings are down a reported 40 percent. Consumer confidence is at a half-century high, and small business prospects are also at their highest since 1984. Obamacare is almost toast, regardless of the establishment bullsqueeze attempting to replace it, and more than half of the public is happy entrusting Trump with the economy. Who’s interest does this serve? China is about to stake claim to the moon ( and make no mistake they will claim ownership of it – let your mind wander on the possibilities ), and of all the previously international waters in Asia…..yet we are once again throwing men, women, and money into the gristmill of the Middle East……with no clear goal or path to victory. So Mr. President………how does this benefit the People of The United States and return power to the taxpayer? The only wars I want the President undertaking are on Twitter.

Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong

I truly enjoyed Hillary Clinton’s performance in Monday’s debate. I also enjoyed not being disappointed in Lester Dolt’s biased position as the designated thrower-of-softballs to Her Majesty. I was hoping that Trump was going to push harder on several answers that Clinton gave, but in reviewing all the post debate coverage, and the history of presidential debates, I realize why he wasn’t tougher. One example would be the series of debates between Romney and Obama…….Romney came out strong in the first, but shot all of his ammunition at once. Combine that with Mitt’s inability to challenge anything Obama said, out of fear of being labeled a racist, and what resulted was a flimsy, flaccid finish in the last two debates that all but guaranteed O’s victory.

Hillary was poised and most likely heavily medicated. At times I thought she had been replaced with an automaton created to remain standing without coughing for 90 minutes…..but really, good for her. After spending the last couple of months flopping like a bass on a boat deck, it was nice to see her in old form. Oddly, I was initially worried that Trump would be the one that came across as arrogant and aggressive, but it turned out by the end of the debate it was Hillary that had that description in the bag.

I also would give Trump the following advice: Stop defending your business. I get it, I really do. When you are a private citizen with a long history of business that carries your name, you are most likely proud of that business, and when it is attacked you get defensive. The point Trump is missing is that outside of die-hard leftist hacks, NOBODY CARES. Nobody cares about your tax returns. Nobody cares about some 40 year old lawsuit. Nobody cares if you’re worth 4, 5, or 6 billion. Nobody cares about anything you said in some ancient interview or on season 3 of “The Apprentice”. Let them talk about all those things that have had no effect on any of our lives, or the direction of our nation and the world. Voters have put Trump where he is because of what he isn’t, not what he is, and someone in his camp needs to communicate that to him.

The real issue from Monday night is the giant, steaming pile of bullsqueeze that Madame Secretary left on stage. I’m pretty sure you can still see it moldering and buzzing with flies all the way from space. I literally laughed out loud several times, and yelled at Lester Holt several more. It was tragically hilarious to see Lester ask Hillary about “cyber security” and how she would face that threat as president. Really!!??? I mean for real? I don’t know whose straight-face I had more admiration for, Holt’s or Hillary’s. Nowhere in her non-answer did she address that she is responsible for the single biggest cyber-security breach in the history of the State Department……all because she willfully and illegally installed a private server in a Denver Bathroom. Did Lester even mention it? Nope.

Another tear-inducing moment was Hillary talking about the Middle East and our relationship with Russia. The world is closer to war than many people even comprehend, and Obama and Hillary are solely and completely responsible for it. Through Clinton’s State Department actions the U.S. fomented and sponsored the disastrous “Arab Spring” that has left a trail of coups, Islamic takeovers of former allies like Egypt and Libya, and a civil war in Syria. Hillary’s complete failure of a “reset with Russia” has led to a very uncomfortable conflict of interest in Syria. For those that read Yahoo news or watch CNN, Syria is involved in a civil war, that we stoked, against Islamic forces bent on a Sharia caliphate. Secular, sovereign Syria then called upon it’s ally Russia for assistance in fighting these forces. Our response? We provide weapons and assistance to the Islamist forces while repeatedly “mistakenly” dropping bombs and airstrikes on Syrian and Russian troops and positions. It almost seems Hillary and Obama are hell-bent on starting a war with Putin’s Russia, by proxy or in the open. I have extensively written about the dangerous folly that this is…….and how unwise it is to poke the Russian Bear, whose largest ally, China, is our biggest creditor.

In the end I felt like everything that Hillary Clinton said Monday night was the same old list of tired leftist tropes that are trotted out every four years. The disconnect for the Hillary campaign is that all the problems she outlined are problems that she has either failed to address in 30 years of “service”, or that she directly caused or influenced as a Senator and then Secretary of State. It seems that all Clinton has done in her long career is sell influence, going all the way back to Arkansas and Bill’s presidency…….and it has been quite profitable. In all the talk of Trump’s tax returns and finances, there were no questions from Lester Holt about the 230 million the Clinton’s have accumulated mostly while she was Secretary of State, and what that money bought. There were no questions about the corrupt Clinton Foundation and that only 6 percent of donations to the Foundation go to the causes it espouses. There were hysterics over words said about women by Trump……yet no mention or questions about Bill’s sexual assaults and impeachment, and no questions about Hillary’s involvement and assistance in destroying Bill’s victims. There was much talk about “temperament”, but no questions about Hillary’s “no eye contact” rule while First Lady, or her campaign’s treatment of Bernie Sanders. There was much chatter about Trump lawsuits, yet no questions or interuptions from Lester Holt directed at Hillary for being under federal investigation……while running for president.

Hillary has no plan except more of the same. More taxes, more racial division, more tribalism, more debt, more war, and more of her and Obama’s plan for America. Hillary has made a giant mess out of everything she touches, yet wants you to believe she suddenly has come up with some solutions. Right. That’s like cleaning up a puddle of puke with an even bigger puddle of puke. Gross. Don’t tell Hillary though, as according to Lester Holt and her supporters, she just can’t ever be wrong.

War Is The Answer

In the past days I have been seriously thinking about which direction to go in the pursuit of my next column. The problem is, there are so many horrible things going on at once that it is difficult to pick just one or two to address. Should I talk to you about the sham that is the selection process for our next president? How about the collusion of both parties to continue abusing and soiling our Senate and so-called House of Representatives?  Or maybe about the huge racial and cultural divide currently splitting the legal population? Oh, or better yet, the absolute abject failure of our co-opted “Press” in giving any unbiased, no-agenda, reporting on any of the issues I just mentioned, or anything else for that matter?

Then it came to me. War is the answer. If you logically go through every single major issue facing the United States…….and what the hell let’s throw in the rest of the globe…..the answer to any question is war. Not just in the middle east, not just on your t.v., but on scale on par with nothing we have seen before. Don’t get me wrong, this is the absolute last thing I would want to happen, and it would be awful in more ways than I can imagine. The big problem is that as soon as you look outside these porous borders of ours, every issue and argument seems to be leading to an unfortunate yet inevitable conclusion. Let’s pick a few points and follow the bouncing betty.

Over the past 7 years the United States has either ignored or abandoned every commitment made to our strategic allies all over the world. Whether I agree with what those commitments were and if they were wise decisions matters not, as it sets a very dangerous example. We have failed to honor our commitments to defend free satellite states of the Old Soviet Empire, as Putin gobbles up former chunks of the once dead USSR. We have reduced our military in number and technical development. What once was a formidable fighting force is now a social experiment for transgendered, homosexual, and female soldiers. Our Navy has been reduced by half, with more cuts in the pipeline. In fact, our Prez now demands any increase in military spending be matched with more welfare and entitlement dollars. We have drawn “red lines” all over the middle east, each nothing more than an empty political tool for domestic gain with no thought to the lives that teeter on such proclamations. In my opinion, the U.S. has no business interfering in other nations affairs……but when the Chief Executive makes a threat, it should not be as empty as the suit he wears.

We have built ISIS. Do you hear that leftist weirdos? To those that claimed we created Al Qaeda during the Bush years and yakked on and on about Haliburton, etc., etc.. Well here’s your new crusade ready made for you. By leaving Iraq ( and we can discuss whether we should have ever been there or not later ) with an announced timeline and regardless of the state of affairs, we opened the door to islamists to run wild. In fact, once again in my opinion, we systematically used the “arab spring” to topple leaders like Mubarak in Egypt and Qadhafi in Libya, and have been trying to do the same to Syria’s Assad. Have you asked yourself why? After seeing the obvious mistake of removing Saddam as a barrier to Iran and a hammer to the islamists, why would we continue to follow the same disastrous course all over the middle east? It’s pretty clear that the 7th century headchoppers populating that part of the world were scared to death of the brutal dictators that held an iron grip on them. Well guess what? We traded a handful of distasteful, power mad, dictators for thousands of them that cannot be reasoned with or diplomatically handled.

We have slapped our ally Israel in the face at every turn. Calm down, Jew-haters, I know there is a bunch of people who think that the “Eveeel Jooooooose” are responsible for all the world’s ills, but if you’re one of these folks you need to read a book or two and realize what kind of company you’re in ( and it ain’t good ). Israel is the only democratic nation in the region, and our on-paper ally, yet we have acted as much as their enemy as anyone else……..denying fly over access to their jets for a preemptive Iran strike, denying ammunition and arms, and refusing to honor our promises of joint defense. And speaking of Iran……hey America! do you realize who our new best buddy is? It’s Iran! You know……the folks who have been killing and maiming American soldiers all over the world for decades! The folks who chant “death to America” and mean it…….you know, the freakin’ bad guys! Now we are giving them a nuke!  Not only that but in the super-secret agreement our Caesar made for us behind closed doors, we actually have an obligation to defend their so-called “peaceful” nuclear enrichment sites. Does that sound like a path to peace to you?

As a result of all of this U.S. foreign policy failure, Europe is being flooded with muslim “refugees”. As an example, there is a small town in Germany with a population of 120 that is bracing for an influx of over 700 non-german speaking “refugees” that just so happen to be 70+ percent male.** The U.K., France, Germany, and Italy are all on the receiving end of huge masses of peaceful Islamists who can’t speak the language, are dependent on social welfare/services, and are brimming with the desire to implement Sharia law on the communities they are infesting. Shoot, Obama is shipping thousands of them here for good measure, which sounds like a great idea, doesn’t it? Now in addition to hordes of illiterates from south of the border, we can throw in some terrorists too!

America is in huge debt, or as Trump would say…Yuge Debt. Our 8 trillion dollar debt at the start of our Dear Leader’s tenure has been more than doubled to over 18 trillion *.  We can never repay this debt, even as with unfunded liabilities every single person in America currently owes over a quarter of a million dollars…..even your little kids and babies. Are you good for that? See why the democrats’ promises of free college and free this or that are absolutely ridiculous at best and terrifyingly evil at worst? At the same time our education system is a failure, churning out generations of idiots who think “climate change” is the most serious problem we face. I mean WTF is with that, and how are so many people so damned stupid? To think of all the huge problems we need to confront….. and yet a giant percentage of the population wants to cut our own throats in global competition so we can pee into the wind?   The weather? For real? You people think we can change the mechanics of the very universe? Wow.

Add to all of this the weight of the  global population. China is packed with a billion plus people who are mostly male and mostly deprived of any opportunity to do anything with their lives. India is brimming with young, aimless men also.  Do you think that’s an odd thing for me to mention? It’s not. Want to know why? Because countries with population crisis like that need something to do with all of those bodies, not to mention finding the resources to feed them. Historically the answer is war. When you combine poor economies with poor leadership, bad things happen. Kind of like putting American soldiers on the battlefield right next to Russian soldiers. Can someone tell me why our president is dead set on arming and funding the Islamic state, using our troops to defend them, and doing this in direct opposition to Russia – who is engaged in active combat with them? How long before an incident that leads to disaster happens?

And there you have it. All of the things I have mentioned lead to a very troubling conclusion. How does the U.S. rise out of deepening recession? How does China manage it’s population and failing economy? How does Iran use it’s newfound and America-given hegemony in the Middle East? How does Europe contain the Islamic crisis it has helped create and is so far powerless to stop? It seems that no matter what the question is, sadly and predictably,  a World War is The Answer.  We won the last one, but I fear that a nation of climate changin’, gender reassignin’, celebrity worshippin’, Bernie Sanders lovin’, Benghazi lyin’, spray tannin’, Ferguson burnin’, and selfie takin’ whiners is ill equipped to win, or even survive, the next one.

Who Passed the Gas?

Ahhhh…… Here we go again. I have spent several days soaking up cable news and talk radio opinion much like a urinal cake soaks up unpleasant aromas. And just what topic could make me subject myself to such punishment, you ask? The IRS scandal? The NSA spying scandal? The blatant disregard of the Constitution that our (s)elected officials swore to uphold? The National Healthcare debacle? Booooring. That’s so last week. I have been watching, reading, and listening to the incessant beating of the war drums taking place in America by our Elites.  Who cares that almost all of us regular folks, that’s code for moron in Washington by the way,  want nothing to do with this.

Establishment types on both sides seem to be blaring the call to war  like those annoying weekly standard tests that mess up my CSI reruns.  How strange. I keep getting this weird feeling of deja vu….. I vaguely remember another middle eastern country with a “dictator” that was gassing his own people and threatening “instability in the region”. We needed to “form a coalition”, and “keep all options open” to stop the slaughter.
I don’t remember……. did that work out well? In the scheme of things, there was far more evidence of WMD use in Iraq than there is in Syria. The scary thing, actually it would be funny if not so frightening, is the same bobbleheads that predicted doom and failure in Iraq are calling for action in Syria. WTF? I thought the main source of trouble in the world was an Imperialist America that couldn’t mind it’s own business. In fact, I thought we elected the current political leadership based on an opposition to this kind of fiasco.
So here we are…. The president is on TV, red-faced and irritated with having to answer questions from a foreign press that isn’t in line for his autograph after his not-so-stellar golf round. I found it ironic, if not a little sad, that while meeting with the Swiss Prime Minister our Duffer in Chief decided to give a little lecture about military action in Syria. That’s class ladies and gentlemen, giving a war mongering temper tantrum while standing next to the leader of an officially neutral country.

I am appalled at the lack of outrage by our press, and also by the “Code Pink” groups of the world. We have ZERO evidence that Syria has used chemical weapons. You say, ” no way. man! The POTUS says we have intelligence that there are WMD’s!”…. Well, I can remember a different POTUS saying pretty much the same thing. So, that guy was wrong and needed to be condemned by history, but this guy is awesome, not to mention completely trustworthy, right? Good to know Obama is on track to earn the Nobel Peace Prize he received awhile back.
And where are the calls for caution in this rush to conflict? Nowhere, that’s where. You’ve good ‘ole John McShame calling for action. You would think a guy held in a cell for several years by an undeclared enemy would calm down a little bit before possibly sentencing scores of young Americans to the exact same fate. Speaker Boner now calls for the same. All that’s left is for that manliest of all senators, Lindsey Graham, to declare in a loud, lispy voice, ” Leths go to waaah!”. Watching these idiots let themselves be cornered by possibly the most incompetent executive to ever hold the office is mind blowing. Let me get this straight, the prez says “I’m making a red line you can’t cross!”, and when it’s allegedly crossed, suddenly it’s “our” red line, or Congress’ red line. I love how when Barry talks good news, it’s “me, me, me”, but when he steps in a pile its, “we, we, we”.

Here’s the real issue. We have been told for years that we cannot depend on nameless, vague “intelligence” that is used to commit our country to military action. Now, mired in serious scandal that at any other time in history, with any other party, would result in impeachment, our Administration finds it’s Grand Illusion. Or if you prefer, Grand Distraction. I want to see all the baby boomers, millennials, and peaceniks who have been squawking for so long, about so much, to stand up and say, “It was wrong for the previous administration to take us to war in another country, over incomplete information…..and it’s wrong now, regardless of politics”.

I won’t hold my breath……even though someone supposedly passed gas.

The New Rome is Burning, So Where’s My Fiddle?

46 murders have taken place in Chicago so far this month ( thanks, redeyechicago ). Just a brief glance at the age, race, and circumstance show a less-than-shocking similarity. Victims range from being teenagers to young people in their twenties and thirties. Where is the Leader of the Free World? No comment? Last time I checked the guy who America elected to take more taxpayer funded vacations than anyone in history was from there. Or lived there. Or maybe went to college there. Or organized there. Well… I’m pretty sure he was there for awhile. Somebody had to vote “present” instead of yes or no at all those important Illinois state senate debates. Couldn’t all those victims have been his son? Or himself? Because, you know, if it wasn’t for the swanky, ritzy, private school-in-paradise experience that our Chief grew up with, any one of those victims coulda been him. Nothing says “from the Hood” like polo shirts, tennis clubs, fruity cocktails, and an educational resume that includes words like “academy”.

See, I don’t really care that much about the whole Zimmerman/Martin thing. All I know is that regardless of all the how and why of it, anyone who has ever been beat up understands. If you’ve never had another human being decide to sit on you and start your blood flowing with multiple blows to the face, shut up. Getting your ass kicked is a pretty scary experience, and if it’s never happened to you then you don’t know what you would do, or how you would react. Also, if your first reaction to some dumpy douchebag following you while you skulk around a neighborhood in the dark is to break their face open and then sit down to do some more, you’ve got some issues as well. So let’s move beyond the Nancy Grace hysterics, shall we?

My point is this : The world is on fire. And not just a little brush fire, either. More like a Germany-about-to-invade-Poland fire.
Like a break-out-the-marshmallows-cause-Hiroshima’s-on fire- fire. And where is the cool, calm and collected dude who’s claims to lower the seas and bring peace to the middle east? On vacation? Yakking it up at a $30,000 a plate fundraiser? Or on vacation. Again? Maybe this time the First Family will keep it to the mean streets of Martha’s Vineyard. ” Muffy, we’re all out of Pinot! The hyooomahniteee!”.

Egypt is a complete mess. But why, you ask? Didn’t we support the “Arab Spring”? By the way, that sounds like a really bad personal hygiene product. I’ve gotten a whiff of it and it really stinks. It smells like civil war in Syria, military coups in Egypt, expanding Iranian power, and the devolving of Turkey into an Islamic State.

Not to mention what’s happening here on the home front. Did you know that just a few short years ago there was 1 Trillion dollars in circulation, and today there is over 3? Can you wrap your brain around that? So, is your gas/groceries/rent/ more expensive, or is your hard-earned money worth a third of what it was? Guess what, it’s both…… and it hasn’t even hit us hard yet. Hey twenty-somethings, thanks to your power at the voting booth you now have to buy health insurance! Oh… you don’t need it or want it? Too freakin’ bad kiddos, cause you can either buy it or pay an ever-increasing fine! See, someone has to pay for the rest of our “free” healthcare, and it’s you. I got to spend all my money in my twenties on concert tickets and good times, because I was healthy and didn’t need or even think about insurance. On top of that, all those nifty ADHD and depression drugs you’ve been swallowing your whole life will follow you like a pickpocket in a foreign country. Good luck with that first serious job interview when your history of teary, sad, bed wetting that your folks got you medicated for shows up. Sweet!

But hey, don’t feel bad…. Jay-Z is doing a concert in the White House, LeBron’s getting warmed up on the private b-ball court, Bon Jovi’s bringing dinner, and Oprah is gonna say grace. Because that’s how all of us, including at-risk inner city kids, roll. I’m so glad we have a real outsider in charge, you know? At least he can relate. And hey, when the lights go out, don’t worry. We’ll keep warm by the light of the fire. Where’s my fiddle?
